Float glass furnace

Configuration:

The erosion is the main wear mechanism of glass furnace refractories, so it is necessary to select refractories carefully. Hitech Material provides an integrated solution suitable for each part of flat glass furnace.

  Float glass furnace is divided into three parts: tank, regenerator and tin bath.

  The glass batch is fed to tank furnace from the lower part of front wall, passing through the neck into cooling zone after preheating, melting, clarification and homogenization, and finally from canal into tin bath.

  1. Bottom

  Bottom is built by fireclay bottom blocks, on which is paved by zircon or AZS ramming mass;

  Melting region is paved by Fused cast AZS bricks(AZS 33);

  Cooling zone can use fused cast α-β-Al₂O₃ bricks for pavement.

  2. Pool wall & Breast wall

  Pool wall of melting region is built by fused AZS bricks;

  Air-cooling or water-cooling construction should be adopted in the fluxline of breast wall, and asbestos-free calcium silicate boards can used as heat insulating material layer in the other parts;

  Pool located in cooling zone generally use α-β-Al₂O₃bricks or AZS 33 bricks;

  Breast wall of melting region use AZS 33 bricks, while fining zone and cooling zone use high quality silica bricks or fused cast β-Al₂O₃ bricks.

  3. L-shaped suspended arch and Gable

  L-shaped suspended arch: AZS 33 bricks, zircon mullite bricks, high quality silica bricks;

  Gable: high quality silica bricks.

  4. Cullet

  Cullet of melting region are commonly built by high quality silica bricks, of which SiO₂content is 96% and true density is no more than 2.34 or 2.35.

  5. Regenerator

  1300~1100℃: magnesia bricks(MgO content is 95%~98%);

  1100~800℃: directed bonded Magnesia chrome bricks;

  below 800℃: low porosity fireclay bricks.

  6. Tin bath

  Bath bottom: refractory bricks, encapsulating material, graphite products, Stainless fixing member;

  Bath roof: sillimanite bricks and insulating bricks.
