Silica bricks are produced by using silica of which SiO₂ content is not less than 96% as raw materials, adding iron scale, lime milk as mineralized agent, while ligno-cellulose sulfite extract as binder, obtained by mixing, forming, drying and sintering.

　　The higher the SiO₂ content of silica raw material, the higher the refractoriness of refractory materials and products.

　　Silica bricks which consist of tridymite, cristobalite, a small amount of residual quartz and glass phase belong to acid refractories.

　　True density is an important quality index, which is required to be less than 2.38g/cm³. Accordingly, Hitech silica bricks of which true density is 2.34 g/cm³ are the high quality products.

　　High quality silica bricks for glass furnace are characterized by high silica content, low melt index, etc.

　　High quality silica bricks are mainly used for furnace crown,breastwall of fining and cooling area, suspended arch, frontwall, gable, cullet of melting region, port, regenerator crown, etc.
