With the development of the continuous casting, the immersion nozzles which are functional refractories for continuous casting also is quickly developing, especially with the emergence of Al₂O₃-C immersion nozzles. In order to meet the requirement of thermal shock resistance, adding a certain amount of mullite and fused silica to Al₂O₃-C immersion nozzles.

　　Al₂O₃-C immersion nozzles have excellent performances of good slag resistance, good anti-clogging, long service life and low accident rate, etc.

　　As one of continuous casting refractories, Al₂O₃-C immersion nozzles which are used to connect tundish bottom and copper mould tube can ensure the liquid steel gotten outta tundish is not exposed to the air, so as to prevent flow scattering of liquid steel, reduce the liquid steel inclusion into the copper mould tube, and protect liquid steel from oxidation.
