Mullite bricks have two types: sintered mullite bricks and fused mullite bricks.

　　Sintered mullite bricks use high alumina sintered bauxite as raw materials, adding a small amount of clay or bauxite as binder, pressed by forming and sintering.

　　Fused mullite bricks use bauxite, aluminum oxide and refractory clay as raw material, adding fine-grained charcoal or coke as reducing agent, and produced by forming and reduction smelting.

　　Compared with sintered mullite bricks, fused mullite bricks have larger crystal and higher thermal shock resistance.

　　Mullite bricks offer high density, low porosity, good hot strength and good slag resistance. Additionally, mullite bricks also have advantage of high quality and good chemical corrosion resistance.

　　Due to excellent thermal properties, excellent strength at high temperature, great resistance to thermal shock, mullite bricks are preferred for high temperature, high load applications.

　　1. Mullite bricks are used for cement rotary kiln.

　　2. Mullite bricks are often used at the top of the hot blast stoves;

　　3. Mullite bricks can be used in blast furnace shaft and blast furnace bottom;

　　4. Mullite bricks are applied in regenerators of glass furnaces;

　　5. Mullite bricks are used as lining of high temperature sintering furnace.

　　6. Mullite bricks may be used for sulfuric cracking furnace.
